This is such an exciting post that I’ve been working on.
I love giving tips to my brides even non-photography related. To add an extra special touch to weddings, it’s important that other details aren’t forgotten like makeup! I always recommend that you hire a professional artist. For more reasons than one, it can really give you pictures that extra punch it needs from amazing to breathtaking.
I was privileged to talk to a VERY talented local makeup artist and get his take on things. Jeff Fulford is a full time esthetician at Amore’ Salon in Kalispell. And let me tell you folks, he knows his stuff. I received quite a few questions from brides for Jeff and he was so gracious to answer them for us!
First of all Jeff, why should a bride have professional make up applied for their big day?
Well a bride should have makeup done professionally because you only have your special day once and you want to look your best. Consult with someone who knows what they are doing. Trust your makeup artist. Do your research, look at some of their past work.
What about brides who prefer a more natural look? Can they benefit from a professional makeup artist too?
Brides who want a natural look can benefit from a professional makeup artist. As a professional makeup artist myself I have a consultation with each and every bride and listen to what they want. I will never give a bride something she is uncomfortable to wear on her wedding day. But at the same time brides need to understand going a little heavier with makeup on their wedding day just for photos. Trust me you’ll regret it if you don’t. If you are looking to look younger and healthier a more permanent option may be doing a Skin tightening comestic procedure like Ultherapy in Manhattan NY.
What does a professional makeup artist offer over my friend that offered to do my makeup for free?
If your friend offers to do your makeup for free..I really hope he or she really knows makeup. A professional is trained and has experience doing makeup. You won’t get that with a friend doing your makeup. I cannot stress this enough. If you do go with your friend do some trials before hand to make sure this is what you want.
What about after you leave? How will I touch up my make up? It’s bound to wear off through the night, and I want to look fresh.
Most of the time when you get your makeup done for your wedding you are able to purchase products to touch up. I always recommend purchasing the lip color a gloss, blush, powder and mascara. That way you’ll have your must have touch up products with you at all times. And best of all most of them can also be used for everyday makeup use.
What can I do skin care wise to help my skin before my wedding? I don’t want it to just look good, I want it to be healthy!
Great question! According to www.malie.com, if your looking for healthy skin visit your esthetician a few months before to be skin typed and have a few facials before hand. As you are able to view more from this site, as it states, this will allow skin time to heal as well as become used to a routine of skin care, since taking care of the skin is important, from the face or arms which are the most expose, to protect your hair you can visit https://salonlofts.com/salons/in/sarasota and also to other intimate areas which are important and could sometimes need care, so the use of intimate bleaching cream could be really helpful in taking care of these areas. Doing so will ensure healthy skin and you won’t regret it.
How do I know if someone is the right makeup artist for me?
You’ll know if your makeup artist listens to you and what you want and also if you do a trial and you love what they do. Then you’ll know. Simple.
What do I do if I hate how my make up looks after?
There is nothing I hate more when a bride isn’t happy. If shes not happy with the consult…tell your makeup artist. Its your wedding day and your paying them to do makeup. You’d better leave happy and loving the look you’ve picked.
Will you tell me if the style I like doesn’t look good on me?
A good makeup artist will tell you if it looks good or bad. I tell brides wear the look all day and see if your friends or family like the look. Get opinions from people you know. Then you decide.
Is it a good idea to do a trial run before my wedding day?
Is it good? Actually it is. I won’t do wedding makeup without a trial. It all relates to the consultation and loving the look you and your makeup artist have come up with for your wedding day. Your look should be custom fit to your needs and your skin and facial features.
What’s the difference between your products and my cover girl makeup?
The difference between these makeup lines can be a lot. Price can be a huge thing for a lot of people. Quality and hypoallergenic qualities are also big factors in makeup as well. Another thing I hate seeing is when a makeup company tests their products on animals. So be sure to ask if they do or not.
